Using Up A Busted Parker 51 Desk Pen

I have several Parker 51 desk pen bodies that had the end broken off of them and I needed a felt tipped pen.  So after a bit of looking around I found a refill that I liked and made myself a pen to match my Parker 51 fountain pen.  I had a spare 51 cap so that is what I used on this one.

Making a cap for an old pen

I find a few pens that have no cap with them and they end up in a drawer "waiting for a cap"
This little Sheaffer I got a while ago and still no luck on a cap so I got my wife to choose a color the would be ok and this is what I ended up with.

Not a match but at least I am able to use it now while I am waiting for a cap.

Just noticed in picture 3 that there is green in the cap. (that's why I get her to choose)

My new Piston Filler

Working on a piston filler

Stained Maple Pen

This was made from some wood that I had that came from some land that my family had bought when they came over from Ireland in the 1700's.  It is maple and I dyed it green as that is one of my colors.

New Parker 51 stype pen

I really like my Parker 51 pens so I made up this one that is sort of a 51 style pen.
The cap is an orginal 51 from a parts pen I had in stock.

Working yesterday on getting my lathe set up to do a 6 or 8 sided tapered pen.

So far it is looking good.
