Installing a converter into a Parker 51

I got this Parker 51 in a while ago that had the squeeze unit all mucked up.  It looked like someone had taken a pair of pliers to it to squeeze it.  The feeder tube was almost all gone as well.

Howard at Bexley had done a new unit for these so you could use a cart. or a converter.
I set this one up to use a converter that is sealed into the pen.
The fit was not as tight as I would have wanted it so I used a bit on a clear sack that I cemented onto the section and onto the converter.  I have use this as a daily use pen for over a week now with no problem at all.

All set to go

Really Nice Blue Esty Nib Holder

I found this rod of blue yesterday when I was cleaning up as well as a stash of Esty nibs.
I was trying out some filling systems and ended up making this little baby.
The nib is a 1555 and it has a really nice ink flow to it.
I set it up as a squeeze filler and it holds a lot of ink.
Really good balance as well as the slip cap make for a really nice pen.

Vintage Ball Point Repair

I have had this pen for a bit now and after finding it again the other day I thought I would try and repair it.

The section material was so brittle that there was no way to salvage it so I had no choice but to make up a new one.

I used a Bic refill in it because it has a black end cone on it.

So at the end of the day I was able to salvage a busted up but neat looking pen.

A Tale Of Two Sections

I had a couple sections floating around, a Cross and a Pilot.  With a bit more vintage material I had on hand decided to make up a body to hold them both.
This material is made by wrapping it around a rod so you have to deal with working a tube material.  It is a bit hard to see but the end is a tortoise material and when it is held up to the light it is transparent.

The Cross

The Pilot

So depending on my mood I have a choice of two nibs to use.
I once again used a Here slip on cap.
I am almost through my stash of caps honest.

Vintage Weekend

It was a vintage weekend for me.
I had this material in stock for a while now and when I pulled it out the other day I thought it would make a nice click pen.
This started it's life as a desk pen in a hotel in Budapest.  I had bought it in the Grand Bisar when I was in Istanbul.  I had some old black ebonite that was from the same era so I put the two together and ended up with a nice click pen.
It takes a Parker style refill.

51 Inspired Ebonite Pens

I got some new ebonite in last week and I was able to get the first one finished off today.
I love the style of the51 with it's slip on cap.
Once again I have used the Hero 616 as my cap.
The nib is a really nice F.

Vintage G2 Refill Holder

I finally got brave enough to get the shop thawed out.
I had to put the block heater on for an hour on the head of the lathe before it would turn over.

I was digging around my stash the other day and I found this material that I was told was from some vintage stock.
I am not sure the age of it but it did make a nice looking pen.

This one was cobbled together from some assorted bits.

The clip and washer as well as the black top were from a Parker fountain pen that I had some extra parts.
I drilled and threaded the end to take the clicker unit.

This one takes the G2 refills as well as the Uni-ball Jetstream Rollerball refills.
The only thing is you have to remove or cut off the little plastic blue bit on the end of the Jetstream and then it is the same size as the G2

Any way I was very pleased with the pen and that it will take two types of refills.

Blue Hard Rubber Click Pen

I found some really nice pens the other day.

Now I love how these pens write with a .5 needle point on them but the body left a bit to be desired so this is what I came up with to house this really nice refill.

I used some blue/black ebonite that I had and I was quite pleased at how it all turned out.

Orange Hard Rubber Pilot G2 Refill Holder

Everyone knows I love the Pilot G2 refills but the plastic bodies are a bit wanting so I made my own.
